Four Phases of Bruce Drago Hardcore MMA Drills
Bruce Drago created a mixed martial arts (MMA) training program called MMAXOUT consisting of drills that hone fighting skills and techniques which can be combined together to create an overall extreme workout training session. There are four phases in this program where each class has a theme in which students work drills, skills and conditioning into the workout session. Drago’s MMAXOUT program incorporates over 20 years of classroom experience of its creator, Bruce Drago. These four phases are as follow:
- Standup Fighting. Bruce Drago feels that Muay Thai is the best standup fighting system. Hence, skills such as, boxing, kickboxing and strike fighting are incorporated to develop strength, increase speed and enable students to do explosive attacks.
- Grappling. Bruce incorporated ground striking with grappling skills into one intense program.
- Clinch. Every student is taught how to work everything including MMA fighting/training, takedowns, throws, cage pins and counters from the clinch position.
- MMA. Combining all three aforementioned phases at once, this phase provides intense, explosive and realistic standup-to-ground and ground-to-standup training to simulate the reality of a true MMA fight.
Bruce Drago has been studying martial arts since he was five years old. He has multiple black belts in Korean and Japanese martial arts and is a member of the International Black Belt Hall of Fame. In 2002-’03, he was certified as an expert in Krav Maga – the Israeli Defense System of contact combat based on the street-fighting skills developed by Imi Lichtenfeld. Bruce has been in the fitness industry for 30 years. For more information on MMAXOUT, please click: http://www.brucedrago.com/
