Beth Shak Poker Advice
Beth Shak took her first baby steps to becoming the poker pro she is today by logging on to Full Tilt Poker, and using “play money.” That was just over four years ago. These days, Beth is one of the leading ladies of poker, with a reputation for combining ruthless game play with unquestionable style.
Poker aficionados can learn a thing or two from Beth Shak, who has made it to the Women’s All Time Money List with total winnings in excess of $450,000. When it comes to the age old question of whether to play the cards or the other players, Beth is firmly on the side of those who play the cards.
In one of her interviews, Beth Shak said “I would say the advice I have is to not be intimidated if you feel you have the best hand, to go with it, to play it, and if you lose you lose. I follow that rule even today. In fact, the last tournament I lost I knew I had the best hand, I made a move with it, and unfortunately I got rivered but if I hadn’t I would have left Foxwoods on day one with the chip lead.”
She added, “I don’t care who I’m sitting with. It doesn’t matter if I’m sitting with a table of unknown people, or a table of pros. I know my cards are my cards, and if I hit them I hit them, and I just don’t get intimidated.”
Beth Shak continues her meteoric rise in the world of professional poker having had cash finishes at 5 WSOPs and 2 World Poker Tours.
